An Instagram puzzle is a multi-image layout where individual posts combine to form one large image across your profile grid. When visitors view your profile, the pieces align seamlessly into a full artwork, banner, or photograph — a popular technique used by artists, brands, and influencers.
Why post in reverse order? Instagram places your newest post at the top-left of your grid. By posting the bottom-right piece first and finishing with the top-left, every piece lands in the correct position once all are uploaded.
What image size should I use? For best quality with a 3×5 grid (15 pieces), use an image at least 3240×5400px (1080px per piece). The tool will split whatever you upload — higher resolution means sharper pieces.
Will my puzzle look right on mobile? Yes — Instagram's 3-column grid is identical on all devices. The pieces will align as long as you post in the correct order without deleting or reordering posts.
Is anything uploaded to a server? No. All splitting is done 100% in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
